I am really close to finishing this painting after having to set it aside for several months............it had tons of paint that was wet and working on it became a problem. The other day when I couldn't get out to paint, I determined that it was fully dry and I could finish it. Good plan since it poured the past couple of days and I wouldn't have been able to work outside anyway.

hot day - 20x16"
I am getting close to finishing this one and plan on using it for my PR for my upcoming "Featured Artist" Show at the Beaufort Art Association......I needed a painting with a large enough emptyish area to superimpose copy over.
I often forget if I have posted a painting that I have finished.....mostly because I feel guilty about posting too many "updates." So, here is one I finished a while ago....it's 16x12".

third week of May - update
This type of update is working well for me since I have developed such a dislike of going on the computer! The top painting is in its final stages and measures 16x12." It is painted on a Raymar panel - a surface I am trying to use more and more - I still like stretched canvas better. Sorry about the tiny shadows at the top (it's still on the easel)......too wet to move to get a better photo.....the color's too cool as well.
This painting is also nearly completed but was so wet I had to put it aside for a few days..........it's 20x16" (and on canvas).
This 12x10" study was done plein air - a view of the only elevated area we have in Beaufort - from the marina. I tend to do these studies more for gathering information about color and experimenting with stroke/mark making than anything else.....also on a Raymar panel.

Side Lit - 20x16" - progression
Damn, just getting this photo here made me tired.....I think it's going to take a while before I can remember how to do these things on iPhoto! At any rate, I have been working on this in between gathering tons of paperwork that the mortgage company has required. It seems like I will be done with it soon though and then I can begin packing and moving (yippee) and then I plan on never moving again!
