kennedy park - 14x11"

I did a wicked ugly garden study yesterday so decided not to post! I started early this morning and went to Kennedy Park which is quite lovely (and has parking) to work on my greens. Lots of times there are really strange people hanging out there but this morning was really quiet.

roses - 8x10"

I started this last summer but didn't have time to finish. I figured that I would be able to finish it this year but unfortunately this bush died over the winter. I looked at it yesterday and decided I could cut the painting down so it would not seem unfinished (it is on a panel) but I decided that I liked the unfinished quality of it.

morning garden study - 9x12"

A view of my garden through the side yard.........the yellow irises are blooming and the clematis is at its peak. I figured I had better get painting them or I would be too late.

lettuce - 10" square

The only way to paint lettuce is to leave it in the ground - I have tried with beautiful bunches that I have brought home from farmer's markets but it's nearly impossible. This lettuce happens to be in my window box (the only place the groundhogs don't get it) and was conveniently at eye level. I liked the puzzle piece/abstract quality of the scene.
